I love it when you order yarn online and it arrives wrapped like a gift.
Guess what arrived today?
I took a peek at work but didn't open the package fully until I got home.
Yup, it's my Lanas Puras Meloso Fingering for my Clapotis like this one! I'm so excited!
But no casting on until I finish the skirt... I want to wear it this weekend for my birthday/St. Patrick's Day celebration - perfect right? I may even try it with my Clementine Shawlette although I'll have to figure out what top to wear.
I've been deep into knitting lately, especially this past weekend. With so little tv and so much stockinette, I've been able to catch up on knitting blogs and Ravelry whilst knitting. It's been great to actually spend some time reading blogs because usually I don't have time and have to skim quite a bit. It's been a good distraction too. Come Sunday night I was like, job? What job?!! I have a job????!
I know many people spend an inordinate amount of time on Ravelry and this weekend I experienced a bit of that too. I found that it's great to search projects by both pattern and yarn - want to see all Clapotis knit in Lornas Laces? Baby Surprise Jackets in Noro Silk Garden? Easy! Or search projects by yarn and colorway to get a better feel for the colorway and how it knits up.
Speaking of which, I think I'm going to repurpose my Noro Sillk Garden into a Baby Surprise Jacket for someone rather than the striped scarf for my nephew. I think hats might be better than scarves for a teenage boy and I may try a Malabrigo hat - perhaps Koolhaas. I'm also planning on knitting an Amanda Hat for myself.
Ok, back to the ripples I go. I'm almost on the 4th repeat of the lace!
Beautiful new yarn. Hope you have a great birthday!
